When you are a soldier, being deployed can put unexpected financial strain on the families left behind. After reading stories of some of the hardships these families face on a day to day basis, we felt a need to do something to help our soldiers. The thought of a family going without food, having their home foreclosed on, needing medical assistance, doing without the things so many of us take for granted awoke a need in us to show these brave soldiers that while they are looking out for us, we - here at home - will be looking out for them and their loved ones. I know not everyone supports the war in Iraq, but these soldiers are doing their job. While most of us can quit our job and look for something else, these brave men and women can't. Yes, they made this choice when they enlisted, but they are fighting for us, to keep us safe and free. When I read about or see the protestors at the funerals of our fallen men and women, a feeling of shame comes over me that any American could feel justified to act in such a disgraceful manner toward the family and friends who have lost a loved one. Take this matter up with the representatives of your state, but SUPPORT these brave men and women for giving the ultimate sacrifice.
